New Delhi : The world of super cars is different. It’s just like the world of the rich elite. Nothing is average at that level. That term is despised, kicked and detested a little more before it’s completely killed. Instead, everything is done graciously, more opulently, more leisurely and more passionately. While the exterior styling can vary, the engineering of such cars is always a marvel, a feat that also inspires other manufacturers to do better.

The rarer the car, the more special it is, and the more valuable it becomes over time. Here's a list of the rarest of them all

ZENVO ST1

Zenvo was pretty much unheard until Jeremy Clarkson drove one on Top Gear. These Danish hypercars are no slouch thanks to a twin-turbo 6.8-litre V8 engine producing 1,104 horsepower. It can get from 0 to 100 mph within 3 seconds and will run all the way till 233 mph. Only 15 were built and despite some negative reviews, the ST1 is still a remarkable achievement for Denmark.

ALFA ROMEO 33 STRADALE

We now come to the most beautiful car on this list. Only 18 Stradales were ever built and it was originally sold for $17,000 at a time when a normal car cost approximately $2,822, making this very expensive. It is very rare to see one of these on the road or in the market. If the 33 does turn up for auction, it will no doubt have a 7-digit price.

LAMBORGHINI SESTO ELEMENTO

Lamborghini is a master in giving exotic names to its cars and the Sesto Elemento (Italian for Sixth Element) is no exception. Only 20 of these track-only, super-lightweight monsters were built, and it's now one of the most valuable Lambos that money can buy.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK GTR

Another blast from the motorsport past here. When new, the CLK was The most expensive car ever produced, with a price of over $1,500,000. Like the GT1, only 25 were built and just like the GT1 it is a road-racer. Initially it was created for the FIA GT1 Championship in 1999, but the series was cancelled shortly after. Still, to meet obligations, Merc built 25 street versions of CLK GTR. The CLK GTR was, and will continue to be one of the most extreme supercars ever made.

PORSCHE 911 GT1

With only 25 of these built, the GT1 has the joint highest production record on this list. The GT1 is a race car that got converted into a road-car by Porsche. The GT1 is the holy grail for Porsche enthusiasts, and can achieve 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds - quick even by today's standards. It's essentially a Le Mans car that can be driven on the streets.

KOENIGSEGG ONE:1

Christian von Koenigsegg named this car One:1 because of its astonishing ratio between the power (1360 PS( and weight (1360 kg). Only 6 of these Swedish monsters were ever built, and they're worth their weight in gold.

PAGANI ZONDA REVOLUCION

Pagani has made a lot of crazy Zondas, but the Revolucion is definitely one the finest. It featured DRS (Drag Reduction System) allowing the driver to adjust wing angle manually or automatically. Like all Paganis it uses a Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 with over 800bhp, and can exceed 217 mph. The Revolucion was the last descendant of the Zonda family and as a result only 5 were built.

MCLAREN F1 LM

The normal McLaren F1 is an icon and 5 of these LM versions were created to commemorate the F1 GTRs which wrote history in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. Back in the day, McLaren didn’t even announce an official price for McLaren F1 LM, but it's believed to have been in excess of $1,000,000. Today, it's worth rather a lot more.

FERRARI P4/5

The Ferrari P4/5 is a one-off car made by Ferrari but redesigned by Pininfarina and famous car collector, James Glickenhaus. This car wa featured in Car and Driver by Ted West and given the title “The Beast of Turin”. Rumour has it Ferrari was furious when they learnt of its existence - but they got over it when they saw just how beautiful it was.

LAMBORGHINI VENENO

The Veneno is a divisive looking thing, based off the Aventador. Only 5 of these mad cars built and just 3 of those were available for customers to purchase - for $4,000,000.
